The public is invited to the Topsham Public Library (TPL) on Saturday, November 23rd, 2-4 pm for an amazing art show and English Tea style reception honoring the work of former Brunswick resident and retired artist Consuelo G. Bailey, known to many as Connie or C.G Bailey.

The 2025 People Plus Senior Health Expo will be held on Thursday, Oct. 9, 2025 at the Brunswick Recreation Center. Mark your calendars now! The 13th annual People Plus Senior Health Expo, in partnership with Spectrum Generations, was held at the Brunswick Recreation Center on Thursday, Oct. 10.

People Plus is offering a new strength training class on Wednesdays at noon, “Growing Stronger.” This class, with instructor Bea Blakemore, offers gentle strength-training using light weights and resistance bands to increase strength, flexibility, balance, and all-important bone density.

People Plus’ newest club, a Ukulele Club, meets next on Tuesday, August 13, at 2:30 pm. The group will meet the second Tuesday of each month, hopefully increasing to twice-monthly in the fall.

Music in April is the signature fundraiser for People Plus, and this year we are delighted to say that we smashed all previous records, raising over $93,500 for the event!

The 16th annual Brunswick Area Teen Center Scoop-a-thon fundraiser, held April 24, 2024 at Gelato Fiasco in Brunswick, raised $12,455 for the Teen Center – breaking the record for income and sponsorship! 

People Plus has created the Jordan Cardone-Ruwet scholarship to honor the former Brunswick Area Teen Center Coordinator who recently retired after 18 years of service and dedication to the Teen Center program. The award will provide funds of $500 annually for a graduating high school senior (who has been a member of the Teen Center), to be used for post-secondary education of their choice.

Bring your spinning wheel and join the new Fiber Spinning Club at People Plus on the 2nd and 4th Friday of every month, 10 am – 12:00 pm! Spinning is about using a spinning wheel or spindle to transform fiber, usually wool, into yarn to be used for knitting, crocheting, or weaving. It is also about getting together with like-minded people to enjoy camaraderie.
