The 9th annual People Plus Senior Health Expo will be held this year with an “At Home” version kicking off on Thursday, November 10.

With the sun arching lower on the horizon and the calendar advancing quickly, it’s getting colder outside, especially in the mornings.

Former People Plus staffer Frank Connors, trying to come up with “his” way to celebrate the 200th birthday of the Great State of Maine, decided it would be fun and informative to create a list of the 200 places and things that make Maine so “special.” His list debuted in our March 2020 People Plus Newspaper with this article.

The People Plus VTN (Volunteer Transportation Network) has shifted focus to keep homebound seniors well supplied. Normally, our drivers are taking participants to doctor appointments, physical therapy, grocery stores, hair appointments and more. Now our volunteer drivers are grocery shopping and getting prescriptions for area residents and members alike!

In our new program, People Plus staff and volunteers are calling local seniors on a regular basis to have a chat! Our office coordinator called over 400 people to check in on them and see if they would like a daily phone call.

Stacy and our instructors have filmed videos of your favorite classes from the Center. We have videos on Yoga, Tai Chi, Learn Tai Chi movements, Zumba, Qigong, Chair Yoga, Zumba, Loosen Up, Meditation and more. We hope our members will keep up their exercise routines and we hope seniors from all over (and non-seniors too) will try our classes and exercise from their homes.
