Learn all about the P-3 Orion aircraft, its capabilities and several missions, from Bob Bremm, a People Plus member and former Navy Pilot. Bob flew for sixteen years, both active duty and in the reserves, with fifteen of those years flying the P-3. Most people think the P-3 was a transport or cargo plane with piston engines. Nothing could be further from the truth.

The 18th annual Brunswick Area Teen Center Scoop-a-thon fundraiser, held April 29, 2026 at Gelato Fiasco in Brunswick, raised almost $14,500! The Teen Center is hoping to raise $20,000 to cover the rent and utilities for the year, so if you didn’t make it down to the Scoop-a-thon at Gelato Fiasco there is still time to donate by clicking here!

The 14th annual People Plus Senior Health Expo, in partnership with Spectrum Generations, was held at the Brunswick Recreation Center on Thursday, Oct. 9.

The Brunswick Area Teen Center celebrated its 20th Anniversary in June at its new location at the Coffin School Building in Brunswick. Roughly 75 people came out to celebrate the occasion, share cake, thank long time board and committee members and donors for their dedication and loyalty in creating a Teen Center program for Brunswick in 2005. 

We did it!!!! With your help, our month-long Music in April fundraising activities for People Plus were a record-breaking success!

People Plus’ newest club, PPUGS (People Plus Ukulele Club), meets the second Tuesday of each month, hopefully increasing to twice-monthly in the fall.

People Plus has created the Jordan Cardone-Ruwet scholarship to honor the former Brunswick Area Teen Center Coordinator who recently retired after 18 years of service and dedication to the Teen Center program. The award will provide funds of $500 annually for a graduating high school senior (who has been a member of the Teen Center), to be used for post-secondary education of their choice.

Former People Plus staffer Frank Connors, trying to come up with “his” way to celebrate the 200th birthday of the Great State of Maine, decided it would be fun and informative to create a list of the 200 places and things that make Maine so “special.” His list debuted in our March 2020 People Plus Newspaper with this article.

The People Plus VTN (Volunteer Transportation Network) has shifted focus to keep homebound seniors well supplied. Normally, our drivers are taking participants to doctor appointments, physical therapy, grocery stores, hair appointments and more. Now our volunteer drivers are grocery shopping and getting prescriptions for area residents and members alike!
