Games and Clubs

Free for members, People Plus offers a variety of groups, games and clubs at the Center. Activities are subject to change - please check our online calendar for exact times.


Bridge - Mondays, 12–3:30 pm. Play several games with different partners. Advanced Bridge - Fridays, 12:30 pm.
Bridge (Beginner/Intermediate) - Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:30–11:30 am. A less formal Bridge group. All levels welcome.

Cribbage (Experienced) - Wednesdays, 8:45–11:30 am. Play cribbage with different partners.

Mah-Jongg - M/W/F,  9–12 pm. Chinese multi-player tile game. All skill levels welcome.

Exercise Clubs

Easy Riders Biking Club / Winter Outing Club - Wednesdays, starts at 8, 9, or 10 am depending on the season, weather permitting. Rides (or other outings) either begin at People Plus or off-site location and usually last about an hour.

Table Tennis - Most days – check calendar for schedule. For serious players with a sense of humor. Bring athletic shoes or sneakers.

Walking Club - Visit the Brunswick Parks and Recreation indoor track and log your walks in the member logbook.

Interest Clubs

Acoustic Music Club - Saturdays, 1 pm. We be “jammin” at People Plus! If you play an instrument at an intermediate or better level and want to jam with some new friends come join the fun at People Plus. Bring your own instrument, be able to share a few songs and know basic chords. The club will be playing mostly folk, blues, bluegrass and other acoustic music in a song circle format where everyone gets a turn to share a song, with others joining in.

Apple Club - First Thursday of the month, 10 am. Bring your Apple device and questions.

Books a la Carte - Third Tuesday of the month, 3 pm. Unique book club! Share what you’ve been reading and learn about what others think are good, too!

Civil War Book Club - Third Monday of the month, 6:30 pm.

Fiber Arts - Mondays, 9–11 am. Bring your current project (knit, crochet, scrapbook, etc) and socialize while working.

Write on Writers - Wednesdays, 1–2:30 pm. Read and share your works of poetry and prose, and to improve writing skills.

World Affairs Conversation Group - 2nd and 4th Friday, 11 am. Ed Knox will moderate this club. He has lived and worked professionally in the Middle East and taught Mideast History. 

Language Clubs

American Sign Language Club - 1st & 3rd Tuesday, 12:30 pm. Learn basic sign language communication, including the manual alphabet, finger-spelling, numbers, vocabulary (colors, animals, foods, etc.), deaf culture and familiar phrases that will enhance your communication with deaf and hard of hearing family, friends, co-work-ers, students, clients, and customers. No previous sign language experience is necessary. Handouts provided at no cost.

“Kaffeestunde!” German Conversation Club - Second Tuesday of the month, 3 pm. Whether you are just learning, need a refresher or are a pro who wants a chance to speak a language you love.

“Cafe en Francais” French Conversation Club - Fourth Tuesday of the month, 2:30 pm. Spend a lively hour once a month speaking French with good company.

“Cantina Espanol” Spanish Conversation Club - First Tuesday of the month, 2:30 pm. Hablas espanol? Fluency in Spanish is not necessary. Just come with the willingness to listen and learn!
