16th Annual Music in April Gala Fundraiser
Thursday, April 5, 2018, 5-9 pm
Brunswick Recreation Center, Brunswick, Maine
This, our 16th annual Music in April event will combine wonderful dining, live music, silent and live auctions, as well as some unscheduled surprises. Donations of enticing auction items contribute to the Music in April festivities and inspire enthusiastic bidders who will help the event meet its fundraising goal.
Music in April is THE signature fundraiser for People Plus. It enables us to serve the greater Brunswick community by offering a variety of activities to support engaged, healthy and independent lives for older adults, as well as hosting the Teen Center where young people can meet safely to explore creative outlets, participate in inter-generational activities, and develop into well-rounded adults. People Plus also provides outreach and transportation services, and offers a many volunteer opportunities.
People Plus is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. 100 percent of all funds raised stay here in our Brunswick area community, and are tax deductible.
2018 Musicians
Touching Base
A local group that loves the traditional organ trio formula. We pride ourselves with creating a full sound while keeping our volume low enough for whatever room we are in so people can enjoy both us and their conversations. The musicians, all from Bath and Arrowsic, are Lawrence Kovacs (organ), Bob Knowles (guitar), and Dave Rawson (drums).
Porch Time Quartet
Porch Time is a Barbershop Quartet that was formed in the Spring of 2014 as part of the Nor’easter Chorus. Quartet participants for tonight’s Music in April Gala are Al Sargent (tenor), Lew Flagg (lead), Brad Mitchell (baritone), and Ed Robinson (bass).

2018 Location - NEW!
We’re excited to announce our “new digs” for the Music in April Gala. The Town of Brunswick has graciously offered the use of the Brunswick Recreation Center, located at 220 Neptune Drive in Brunswick Landing (formerly Brunswick Naval Air Station). This spacious venue offers more room than we’ve ever had for dining, food stations, bar stations, stage/live auction and silent auction. Parking is plentiful and the lot and roads are well maintained.
