The 14th annual Brunswick Area Teen Center Scoop-a-thon fundraiser, held April 27 at Gelato Fiasco in Brunswick, raised over $8,500 for the Teen Center!
The Scoop-a-thon sold a grand total of 802 items (including gelato dishes, cones, pints and cups of coffee) for a total of $1,604. During the busy 9 pm hour, one dish was scooped every 27 seconds! In addition to Gelato sales, the Teen Center earned funds from a 50/50 raffle, donations, and sponsors for a grand total of over $8,500.
“The community has once again proven that not only does it love gelato, it loves coming together to help feed the teens all year,” said Stacy Frizzle-Edgerton, People Plus Executive Director.
This is the 18th year of the Teen Center Program and the 14th Annual Gelato Fiasco Scoop-a-Thon. These annual events have seen over 1,000 people participating yearly and have raised over $50,000 for the Teen Center Program! “It’s great to see so many people supporting our teens, year after year,” said Joshua Davis, co-founder of Gelato Fiasco.
