We did it!!!! With your help, our month-long Music in April fundraising activities for People Plus were a record-breaking success!
We had our Gala with dinner, music, live auction, silent auction and raffle on April 5, 2025 with 240 people in attendance followed by a month-long online auction with over 400 items and 450 bidders (the most ever)! We reached our goal of a record grand total for the month of over $101,000!!!! That’s amazing!!
Thank you to all our sponsors, gala attendees, auction bidders, volunteers (over 50 including BHS and Bowdoin students), restaurants that donated food, the band Touching Base, The Meddiebempsters from Bowdoin College, the American Legion in Topsham for bar service, and Charlie Crosby for helping out at the last minute as a substitute auctioneer.
Over the years, Music in April has become a signature event in our community and this year’s event brought the fundraising proceeds to a 23-year total of over $915,000!
Music in April is THE signature fundraiser for People Plus. It enables us to serve over 1500 People Plus members who represent an ever-increasing population of retirees and elders on the Mid Coast. This non-profit could NOT do it without the income from Music in April – which has become a fantastic signature event in our community. With this year’s fundraising proceeds, the Center has now raised over $915,000 from the event over the last 23 years! In addition to hundreds of classes, clubs and meals held safely at the Center, we made over four thousand deliveries of groceries, food pantry boxes, meals and prescriptions – and provided over 33,000 miles of transportation – just last year, keeping seniors safe!
