The 18th annual Brunswick Area Teen Center Scoop-a-thon fundraiser, held April 29, 2026 at Gelato Fiasco in Brunswick, raised almost $14,500! The Teen Center is hoping to raise $20,000 to cover the rent and utilities for the year, so if you didn’t make it down to the Scoop-a-thon at Gelato Fiasco there is still time to donate by clicking here!
The Scoop-a-thon has brought in more than $100,000 for the Teen Center program over the last decade and a half. The raised funds ensure that area teens have a safe place to recreate after school, hang out with friends, eat a ton of food, and play lots of games. The event raises funds for the 10,000 visits we will have this year from kids who use the program five days a week!
With dozens of choices of gelato, as well as incredibly good coffee and cookies, the crowds came in droves and the busiest hour was 7pm with an item sold every 28 seconds!
“We are always so grateful for how many people come out to scoop, support teens, each gelato, hang out and listen to amazing musicians, and generally turn out for a really fun party to support our local teens,” said People Plus Executive Director Stacy Frizzle-Edgerton. “With help from our Teen Center Advisory Committee and the People Plus Board of Trustees, we had incredible decorations and raffle tickets sold all day!”
