2014 Senior Health Expo a Huge Success!
Thank you to all the community members that participated in the People Plus Senior Health Expo presented by Spectrum Generations on Oct 21! We would also like to thank our generous partners, Mid Coast Health and Rousseau Management, Inc. for their support as well as sponsors Bar Harbor Bank and Trust, AARP, Bill Dodge Auto Group, Medical Rehabilitation Associates, Winship Green and Brentwood Centers for Health and Rehabilitation, and The Times Record.
The Senior Health Expo was held at the Cook’s Corner Mall in Brunswick on Tuesday, Oct. 21, from 9 am – 1 pm. We had a record turnout this year with over well over 300 attendees, 70 exhibitors (that’s a total of over 600 participants!) and various free activities throughout the day including a CHANS Flu Clinic, Blood Pressure screenings by Mid Coast Hospital, Spinal Alignment screenings, Hearing Video Scope screenings, and Yellow Dot Program registration. A highlight of the expo was a free technology help desk by BoomerTECH Adventures.
Maine has the highest percentage of older adults in the country; and the Mid Coast is where this population is growing the fastest. The People Plus Senior Health Expo presented by Spectrum Generations brings together a variety of resources for this increasingly important segment of our community. The Expo provides an excellent opportunity to learn about products and services in the categories of medical services, fitness and health, technology, legal, community services, housing/respite care, and finance.
In addition to providing a link between consumers and providers, this gathering also encourages networking within the community, thereby strengthening the value of products and service. Watch for the expo again next fall!
