The new year at People Plus, Brunswick, will bring a renewed pledge to pursue “core values” at the Center and a new series of Lunch and Learn programs designed to do just that. “The focus is to age well,” Executive Director Stacy V. Frizzle explained. “Healthy minds and healthy bodies are at the very heart of so much we are trying to do at the Center.”

The Lunch and Learns will usually take place on the 4th Monday of every month at noon at the Center. We will kick off the series on Monday 1/26 with “Can You Hear Me Now?”. Mary Marino, of Mary's Affordable Hearing Aids, will discuss hearing issues as you age, hearing tests available, types of hearing aids, and other gadgets to use to aid in hearing loss. Mary conducts free hearing screenings at the People Plus luncheon each month.

Two more events are planned for February including “Money Smart” on Thursday 2/12 with Crystal Card of People's United Bank, and “Walk the Talk” on Monday 2/23 with Don Miskell of the Harpswell Recreation Committee, who will share the area's best walks/hiking trails and detail preparations for his Appalachian Trail adventure in 2015.

Future programs will discuss eyes, living with arthritis, nutritional tips, and more! Attendees should bring their own sandwich and People Plus will provide chips, drink and dessert. Free and open to the public. Registration required. FMI 729-0757.
