New Zumba Class at People Plus is a Hit

Bea Blakemore, a popular local Zumba Fitness instructor, will be at People Plus Mondays, 10 am, starting Jan 5 for a new Zumba class! A native Parisian, Bea studied Ballet, Modern Jazz and Ethnic dance styles in Europe. We welcome her engaging personality and fun, low-impact style for seniors to People Plus! Cost is $5/class for members or $10/class for non-members. Call 729-0757 to register.

"Easy Riders" Biking Club to start at People Plus

A new Biking Club for members of People Plus, Easy Riders, will have their inaugural ride on Wednesday, May 14.  Interested riders should meet in the People Plus parking lot at 9 am. The ride will last for about an hour.

Senator Angus King presented People Plus with the Nonprofit Business of the Year Award from the Southern Midcoast Maine Chamber of Commerce at their Annual Meeting on January 17.  The award cites the Center for its accomplishment in the areas of business growth and improvement, excellence in the marketplace, quality customer service, community contribution and good financial health.

Through collaboration, People Plus, Merrymeeting Bay TRIAD, Brunswick Police & Fire Departments and EMTs bring the Yellow Dot Program to the area.

Yellow Dot is a free program designed to help first responders provide life-saving medical attention in the first minutes after an accident or medical emergency while driving. Treatment within the 'Golden hour' is critical.
